Enduring

Going Unconscious

When a PC's Health reaches 0, they typically do not immediately die (see "Being Reduced to 0 Health"), but instead begin the process of Enduring. During this time, at the start of each of their turns they must make either a Fortitude or Willpower save (referred to as their Enduring save), can move at a Speed of .33m/sec, and can speak slowly and quietly; additionally, attacks against them have advantage and their Dodge is reduced to 0. This save has a DR of 25 or the amount of final damage that brought them below 0, whichever is greater. They continue making these saves on each of their turns until they are stabilized, healed, or are brought to negative half of their Maximum Health.

If a character begins the process of Enduring outside of combat, or combat ends while the character is still Enduring, the character must make this save once every real-life minute, though this can be adjusted as the GM sees fit.

Being Hit While Enduring

Each time a character is hit while they are Enduring, they lose Health as they typically would, the DR for their Enduring save increases by 5 or the new amount of final damage dealt (whichever is greater), and the character must immediately make another save at the new DR.

Being Stabilized or Healed

When a character is stabilized, they remain unconscious at 0 Health until they receive any amount of healing or 1 in-game hour passes, at which point they regain 1 Health. While a character is Enduring, another character can attempt to stabilize them by taking 6.5 seconds to make a Medicine Kit check with a DR equal to the current DR of their Enduring save; doing this expends the medicine kit regardless of success or failure. On a Critical Success, the character is brought back to 1 Health; on a Success, the character is stabilized; on a Partial Success, nothing happens (though the medicine kit is still expended); on a Failure, the Enduring save DR is increased by 5 and the Enduring character loses Health equal to the amount the stabilizer failed by; and on a Critical Failure, the Enduring character is reduced to negative half of their Maximum Health. A character that gets 3 successes on their Enduring save is stabilized. If at any point during the process of Enduring a character is healed by any amount, they are restored to consciousness with the amount of Health that they were healed for.

Failing

Should the Enduring character fail their Enduring save, they immediately lose an amount of Health equal to the amount they failed the save by; for example, if their Enduring save DR is 25 and they rolled 15, then they immediately lose 10 Health. If, during the process of Enduring, the Enduring character reaches negative half of their Maximum Health, one of two things happens: 1. They go completely unconscious and remain that way for the next 8 hours, at which point they regain 1 Health, or 2. They die outright. Which occurs depends on the character's circumstances, the nature of their wounds, and the GM's discretion.
